Club Support

Surrey Cricket Affiliation

The Surrey Championship automatically affiliate all member clubs to the Surrey Cricket Foundation with the Core Benefits package. We use £25 of each Club fee collected annually as a convenient way to ensure all clubs have the benefits this brings.

See the Surrey Cricket Foundation site for details of the benefits available to affiliated clubs.

For a further £175, a club can become a Friend of Surrey Cricket (FOSC) for a year, bringing with it a range of very substantial benefit.

See the Surrey Cricket Foundation site for details of the FOSC benefits.

The Championship has no financial or other interest in promoting this scheme, it is, however, clear that some of our clubs are enthusiastic supporters.

Here is what some of our clubs have said about the FOSC package:

“Wimbledon CC are a Friend of Surrey Cricket because it allows us access to many free tickets for fantastic T20 Blast matches – which we give to our helpers to say “Thank You”.  We also take advantage of the box on offer to entertain our sponsors whilst watching some decent cricket.”

“Woking & Horsell CC take advantage of the free tickets for the T20 to thank our colts organisers and encourage them to attend with their children, along with others who help run the club. We use the 50 Over tickets as an afternoon/evening out for the senior players. We use the Surrey CCC signed bat as a raffle prize for our colts at their Awards Evening and it is always well supported. All in all, we think FOSC is an excellent scheme and would encourage others to use it too.”

“Reigate Priory CC have thoroughly enjoyed the benefits of being a Friend of Surrey Cricket over the last few seasons. It has strengthened that bond with the county club and watching T20 cricket at the Oval on a Friday night (especially if Priory's Jason Roy is on song!) has been a great way to reward hard-working club members, and for a number of us has begun to grow into something of a habit! The occasional use of a box and the signed bat for us to auction is the icing on the cake.”

We are sure that other clubs would have similar positive views but it is still a minority of our members.  There is no catch here and the value of the package is genuinely far greater than it costs.  We encourage clubs as a minimum to discuss in their committees how FOSC could be used to their advantage.
