Travelbag was announced as the new sponsor of the Surrey Championship at the Kia Oval on Monday 25 April. Known for its tailor-made holidays at unbeatable prices and its expert travel consultants, Travelbag has been an industry leader since it was founded in 1979.
On the evening, chairmen from the Championship had the opportunity to talk to Travelbag representatives and discover how they can benefit above and beyond the sponsorship fee, as commission will be paid to the Championship based on the number of holiday bookings made over the year.
Surrey Championship President Roland Walton says: “I’m really looking forward to working closely with Travelbag. They have been very open and forward-thinking and I genuinely believe this will become an extremely strong partnership – both parties have the good of cricket in the county as their number one priority.”
Travelbag Marketing Director Paul Hopkinson explains: “Partnering with the Surrey Championship is a prime opportunity for us to grow our brand and invest in the future of the Championship. Travelbag tailor-makes holidays to most worldwide destinations, which are affordable to all budgets, and we very much look forward to welcoming members on a Travelbag holiday in 2016 and beyond.
“I’d encourage anyone involved in the Travelbag Surrey Championship to look out for exclusive competitions and special offers over the summer, as well as ways you can help your club by booking your holiday with Travelbag.”
During the launch event Travelbag presented the following which can be downloaded here. It covers the key points clubs need to know, in particular that we can maximise the commission potential for the Surrey Championship and therefore savings to be passed back to your Club: If each Club was to place 4 bookings in 2016 at the average holiday/flights price then the Championship would receive £6000 and if this increased to 10 bookings then £24000 in Commission could potentially be earned.
Also, whilst the sponsorship is with the Surrey Championship, all our relatives, other clubs, businesses and associations of Surrey can obtain competitive quotes from Travelbag and if they quote Surrey at time of booking then our commission will accrue even more quickly.
We also have a flyer which was enclosed within the All Out Cricket magazine on the night, which highlights the key points to note and circulate within your Club.
