Technology in cricket

Technology is something that we believe can help reduce the time that is spent on admin in the club which has to be a good thing.

Cricket scoring applications are one topic where this applies. We hope in the closed season you are investigating your options here again. In particular the benefits of both applications allowing you to upload a full scorecard to Play-Cricket in just a few moments. No fines or chaser emails either... what's not to like?

If you'd like to find out more, it really depends on the technology available to you.

For mobile devices. Take a look at CricHQ which is a free download from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. There are support articles on how to set up with Play-Cricket.

If you are a laptop user you might want to review Total Cricket Scorer (TCS) usual licence = £44.99.

There is a special offer on TCS Licences as of now which is as follows:

£40.00 - New TCS License, including Live Scoring
£20.00 - 2016 Upgrade (existing licensee), including Live Scoring & upgrade to v8.0 where applicable

This offer is open to all clubs in our League but does require us to purchase a minimum of 10 licences, which can be mixed between New Licences or Upgrades. The offer is valid until 31st January 2016 by when our orders must be received. As a reminder, the reasons for advocating electronic scoring are:
· Reduce the work required to upload scorecards to play-cricket.com
· Engage young people that are used to doing everything electronically
· Improve the quality of scoring and results recording
