On a beautiful afternoon at Chipstead Coulsdon and Old Walcountians Cricket Club, the Surrey Championship ran out winners against a strong SE Sunday CL side by just 2 runs, when the last ball of the 45 over match went for just a single, when they had wanted four to win.
The Surrey Championship innings was dominated by 78 from Sanderstead's Tyler Ward, and 60* from Amartya Kaul from Spencer, as a decent total of 241-6 was posted off 45 overs. In response, SE Sunday CL went off like a train, and they had 50 on the board in no time. There was then a tumble of wickets before a skipper's knock from Babar gave them a real chance of victory. 10 off the last over became four off the last ball with nine wickets down... but the Surrey Championship prevailed by just two runs, in a great game of cricket.
