Thank you for supporting the ECB 2019 Cricket Playing Survey. Over 20,000 players from across England & Wales had their say this year of which 286 identifiable responses were from the Surrey Championship. The ECB have shared our key headlines on what players said about our league. The key takeaway is that we are 3 points above the national average for satisfaction, which is great news. See below graphic for full details.
To continue to increase overall satisfaction of all players in the Championship where we can, we also ran our own survey which focused on changes players want to the cricket they play in 2020. This was also discussed during the 2019 Council Meeting. Most recently in this process we issued two questions to Tier 1 and Tier 3 XIs to discover which of the survey feedback they wanted to take forward to the AGM and those proposals can now be found in our AGM overview document.
There was much and clear feedback around the choice of the ball which would support a suggested move to coloured clothing in Tier 1. As such this needs further discussion so there isn't an AGM motion for 2020 but there will be more news on this in the new year. Watch this space. The move to Tier 2 regs in part for Tier 3 is now proposed for 5th Division 1st XI and Prem Division 2nd XI only at this stage, which is in line with the feedback received for which we thank you all.
