Surrey Championship Day took place at the Oval on Sunday 8 July

To celebrate this anniversary season, two T20 games took place at the Oval on Sunday 8 July with the Surrey Senior Cricket Association (SSCA) playing the Surrey Masters and a Founding Clubs XI, from the original seventeen Championship clubs, playing a team representing the Rest of the Surrey Championship with thirty different championship clubs represented across the four sides.

The Surrey Masters won the first game reasonably comfortably, Scott Newman top scoring with 55 in a total of 153-5 for the Masters. The SSCA replied with 121-5.

In the second game, The Founding Clubs XI, chasing a small total of 106 to win, looked to be cruising to victory particularly when requiring just one off the last over, however, Will Rollings bowled five dots from the first five balls of the final over before The Founders ran a bye to the keeper to sneak home by five wickets off the final ball of the match.

A huge thank you must go to those who helped organise a fantastic day. Thank you also to everyone who played, officiated and attended.
