Many of you will have heard the saddest of news from the weekend in regard to Effingham player, Mark Collin, who also formerly played at Epsom and Old Wimbledonians.
The Surrey Championship and Surrey County League are inviting all clubs to hold a minute’s silence before the start of this weekend’s league games, in memory of Mark, who leaves behind a wife and young family. Effingham Cricket Club have set up an online book of condolence with instructions for anyone wishing to contribute.
Effingham Cricket Club have already thanked both Leagues & member clubs for all the many messages of support and condolences they have received. They are also very conscious of doing everything they can for Mark's wife and children to help them come to terms with their sudden loss. As such, if any of clubs are willing and able to photograph their one-minute silence and send the photo onto Effingham, these will be collated into some kind of suitable format, becoming a unique and impactful way of capturing the county wide tribute to Mark. We feel sure this would be very much appreciated by his family, if not now then, perhaps, over time.
Over the past week, many clubs have been in touch with Effingham directly looking to help & support. In response, there is now a page advising what clubs can do.
Surrey Cricket paid their tribute at the Oval on Friday 25th August.
Effingham have posted a photograph, on their own website homepage
, if clubs would be able to copy this format, that would be very much appreciated.
